After a very successful 2010 Kountz Arena & Cedar Ridge Equines will be teaming up to offer 2011 Summer Camps and Clinics!
About our camps...

Beginner camps: Campers will receive 1 hour of on the ground horsemanship, 1 hour riding & 1 hour participating in an equine related craft. As well as journaling everyday & instruction in a variety of disciplines including intro. western and english equitation, barrels, poles and trail courses. (Approximate age group is 5-10 yrs. of age). For youth have little to no prior experience with horses.

This Year our Intermediate and Advanced Camps will be combined!

Intermediate camps: Campers should have some prior experience with horses and be confident at the walk and trot and starting to work on cantering.

Advanced camps/clinics: Campers should be confident around horses and should be able to walk, trot & canter on a horse.  Typically ages 10 & up

Intermediate/Advanced Camps:

Campers will receive instruction in a variety of disciplines including barrels, poles, goat tying, English equitation/Intro. to dressage, trail work  and roping. We often also have equine professionals such as vets and shoers give presentations/demonstrations to campers. Campers will also journal everyday and learn valuable life skills that involve setting goals, horse & human nutrition and take home memories that last a lifetime!


  • Campers are welcome to bring their own horse, but must approve it prior to camp! Additional fees apply for boarding your horse.
  • For anyone traveling from out of town, we are offering horse boarding and accomodations. We do have parking available for trailers/camping.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Campers have the option of staying the night at camp (although space is limited, so reserve your space soon!)
  • This year we are offering after camp care, for the beginner and intermediate camps. Please contact us for more information!
  • The last day of camp, campers will participate in a horse show or rodeo to show off what they learned throughout the week. The show is followed by a potluck BBQ!

Kountz Arena and Cedar Ridge Equines is looking for sponsors to sponsor youth who are not financially able to afford attending a summer camp this year.
Sponsors receive advertisement on camp posters, programs, arena banners and t-shirts, as well as our website (www.kountzarena.com and www.cedarridgeequines.com) for an entire year. Any sponsorship amount is greatly appreciated and will help make a youth summer wishes come true!

"Hi! My name is Amy Prechter. I moved to Bozeman, Montana in 2009 to pursue B.S.                                           degrees in Psychology and Agriculture Education at Montana State University. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work as a full time trainer and riding instructor at the Kountz Arena here in Bozeman. I grew up around horses and have extensive experience in the breeding, training and showing of quality Morgan and Quarter Horses in a wide variety of disciplines. In 2009, I finished 6th place in the American Morgan Horse Association Grand Nationals & World Championships Dressage Seat Gold Medal Finals. I currently own and operate my own business "Cedar Ridge Equines" and have trained and instructed lessons for over 8 years in California. I am certified as an Equine Specialist in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and hope to incorporate a therapy program into my business someday! I enjoy watching my students and horses learn and grow!!!"
